Be a Browser Ninja
There are just a few keys you need to master in order to really fly around in the Browser. First of all, the best way to get to the browser is via one of the window selection shortcuts: CMD 4. Once there, you can do all of your bin and clip surfing with these four simple keys:
You can move up and down the browser list with the up and down arrows and you can open or close folders and move into them with the left and right arrows. The best way to get familiar with this navigation method is to play around with it in your own Browser and yes, you really can get to everything in your browser with the arrow keys alone.
Once you stop on a clip and want to open it in the Viewer, you simply hit RETURN
Simple as that. No need to reach over to your mouse and double-click. Certainly no need to click and drag the clip over to the Viewer. Just hit RETURN. You’ll see that the Viewer now has focus and you’re ready to start trimming. A very speedy and efficient workflow indeed.
Want to change the name of a bin or clip? Just hit ENTER
It’s worth noting that the ENTER key works this way universally in the Mac world, so whenever you need to change a file name in the Finder, just hit ENTER.
There are a few more obscure key combos for the Browser (like hitting RETURN with a bin selected to open it in a separate window), but these basic keys: the arrows, RETURN and ENTER are the ones to know to surf the Browser sans mouse.
